Vessels of Service is a short exploration in to the meaning of vessels and how they service our needs as artists and also contributing members of society. Expect Oil painting, ceramics and etched paintings.
The overflowing of what a vessel strives to contain can forge the form of the vessel itself. It is the analogous outpouring of things we can no longer contain that can shape us, just as much as the desire or fortitude to keep aspects of ourselves under control. Aspects of this dichotomy will be presented through drawings of portraits, still lifes, and abstract representations utilising soot, charcoal, ink, and wax. In addition, some clay objects that will be created for the still lifes will be displayed in tandem with the drawings.

Edoardo Hines is a 26 year old emerging artist, majoring in Oil painting during his studies at RMIT. An artist that enjoys the playfulness of expression through simple and immersive themes.
As a ceramic artist working with hand-built porcelain, I focus on the process of making and the insights it provides. My pieces are defined by the vibrant underglazes I use, which bring colour and life to each creation. Through this method, I explore the relationship between technique and artistic expression.
Being bounced around small Central Qld towns growing up, moving to Brisbane to study art, then to Colombia to teach for several years means my art often explores themes of feeling out of place, and awkwardness; in addition to my proclivity towards bittersweet aspects of life.
